Firs In 21st IPC


First in is a book that I highly recommend. It is in English
and can be difficult to obtain. This is a biography of the 21st Independent Parachute
Company, addressing the company's birth and that it were demobilized in 1946 and all
the company's struggles. From Africa to Norway and back to the Mediterranean
closer to Palestine. This book is from 1979.


British Army
Uniforms & I nsignia
Of World War Two
This book is the most comprehensive reference book of all time.
It addresses the following things.
British Army ranks and appointments, badges, patches, titles and flashes,
uniforms and clothing including headdress, specialist and protective clothing,
equipment including steel helmets and protective helmets, web equipment,
antigas equipment, local defence volunteers and home guard and
personal equipment.
Is very difficult to come by now.


It Was Like This!

This book is about Arnhem and Oosterbeek and surrounding area.
The pictures in this book comes from the photographic unit that
landed with the British troops.There are some nice pictures in the book.

For King and Country addresses the British parachute soldiers' equipment;
personal-belongings and uniforms.
Very good book, it is very detailed and many pictures.
It is in English and you can obtain with easiness.


 
British Uniforms

The World War II Tommy runs through British uniforms from the early
war period and until that the British soldier submitted his uniform and
got a suit for the trip home.
It is in English and you can get one as soft cover.

British Webbing


British Web Equipment takes up the British combat equipment from first to
second world war. The book addresses the differences between the two
wars and developments that took place. Recommended for those who are
new in the British equipment and are interested in learning more.
It is in English and you can get it as soft cover.
