Adding a new Klub under Traders and Associations. It´s a Danish Re-enactment 

group that I came in contact at Bunker By Knight they portraying US troops, from 

filed surgeon to US Airborne. Worth taking a look.

THERMOS

A very good example of  these seldom seen Flasks generally associated

with the Airborne or RAF Command Crews. The photo shows an
unknown means of transport perhaps on its way to Arnhem
or Normandy. The Thermos takes centre place in the picture.

The flask and carrier are quite large, standing some 365 mm tall.
Both flask and container are in very good condition whit the flask
having minor dents to the lower rim. The glass interior is
undamaged and the black finish is very good although the cork appears
to have shrunk. The heavily insulated carrier is without defects.
The base of the flask is clearly stamped with the manufacturer´s
details, a War Department arrow and the all-important date,
1944.

Dear followers

We received a mail from the 21st Independent Parachute Companys

Veterans association. They wondered if we could be so kind to change the name,

so that it would not be misleading.

We agree with the 21st IPC Veterans association and changed it to

Red Devils Re-enactment Group.

We apologize for the inconvenience and if we misled or offended members of

the 21st Independent Parachute Companys Veterans association.

FRANCE, AUTUMN OF 1944

October 12 to 14 this year.

A small story from the past weekend.

Autumn of 1944 somewhere in France. There was some British troopes that

blew away from their own forces in a air landing operation behind enemy lines.

It was men from the units 21st IPC that would mark the ground for a

major operation.

After they had orientate themselves, they came in contact with the local people.

They informed that there were German troops in the area and they had American

prisoners amongst them and that there was local resistance movement.

While the British were informed by the locals, they heard aircraft in the air and that

they attacked the German units on the ground from the air.

At this time when the Germans were attacked from the air, The Americans took

the opportunity to escape. The men belonged to the U.S. 2nd armor and was

part of the great operation that had been launched. They had been told before the

operation started that it would be a airdropp and if someone would get lost they

should go to the designated areas and to try to rendezvous whit the British units.

American prisoners.

Strike of luck did  the Americans rendezvous white British unit and consolidate

there options. They agreed that the best thing was to try to get in contact with

local resistance movement. On the way to try to find the LRM the got

detected by the LRM. The LRM were on their way to sabotage a radio station

and needed backup, followed the British and Americans the LRM and

supported them in there mission.

Some skirmishes actions was there on this day.

It was a nice day and a good scenario.

ALLAN ESLER SMITH

When our association converged at Oosterbeek weekend of 20 to 23

September this year, we were fortunate enough by accident to be

approached by man, who was making a documentary and

was wondering if he could use us in his production.

He presented itself as Allan Elser Smith and he worked with making a

documentary of "Theirs is the glory" and he had written books about the

Battle of Arnhem. His uncle was in the production team of the movie

"Theirs is the glory".

The next weekend we go up to Gothenburg for a little field maneuver.

Will meet up whit some allies.

EXPEDITION ARNHEM / OOSTERBEEK


Finally home from Holland and 68th airborne Battle Wheels Oosterbeek. As soon as

I have recovered I'll post pictures of the event. It has been very emotional journey.

Our international group had the honor to participate in a memorial ceremony of

21st Independent Parachute Company and homage the

21st Independent Parachute Company by laying a wreath at their monument. Our

schedule for the days was packed and intense, I can only say that it's been four

wonderful days for me and my little brother.

AIRBORNE BATTLE WHEELS

Then it's almost time to go to Holland again. On the 19 of september, will the

Swedish part of the 21st IPC go to Airborne Battle Wheels in Holland.

We will meet up whit the rest of the 21st IPC at the camp in

Oosterbeek.

Hello All

This weekend were the ninth time the military show Möllerödsdays is on.

I have posted some pictures on attended events.

Opperdoes Event



Now the 21st IPC finally come home from Holland and the big operation Opperdoes.

Met for the first time our Dutch and German 21st IPC friends and many other nice

people with the same interest and without. Want to thank very much for one was

allowed to joine the event and those who arranged it all, great people.

Have been uploading pictures and videos from the event on this address. Hope you

all be content with the little that comes here.

The coming weekend will 21st Independent Parachute Company meet up with the

Dutch and German counterpart in Holland, on 14 June to participate in a steam train

event in Opperdoes. It will be taking place at four train stations, with four different

themes.

CHALK Living History

Stanley Galland Cairns Glider Pilot

I'd like to direct you to a website I was made aware of recently by
CHALK living history. It concerns Major Stanley Cairns GPR from his early
days in the Royal Artillery, serving as part of the BEF in France and its subsequent
evacuation from Dunkirk, to volunteering for the GPR and taking part in the
Italian campaign, the invasion of France and the ill fated
Operation Market Garden in September 1944.  

This is an extremely interesting and well put together website and Stanley Cairns
story is a mighty interesting read, but what makes this website truly stand out is the
inclusion of a photograph album (or images of) sent to Stanley after the war by
 Mrs A.L.A. Kremer-Kingma, the lady owner of the house he and his men held in
Oosterbeek during the battle. There are also some marvellous photo's taken from the
Glider Pilot Training Manual along with some interesting miscellaneous photo's
of Horsas etc.

70 year Anniversary of Assassination on Heydrich

Members of 21st IPC has traveled to Prague to attend at the 70 year anniversary

 of assassination on Heydrich. Will be on the reconstitution of assassination of

Heydrich May 27 Prague this year.

Bunker By Night 18-20 May

Finally home from the Bunker By Night. Has been a wonderful weekend with plenty to see and a wonderful event. Have met very pleasant people at the event and very helpful.

Denison Smock

Wednesday, February 29, I got my Denison Smock by Frank Brown.
Very impressive job he has done on the Smock. Camouflage is hand painted.
